Introducing this new line of hand-carved wooden blocks - The Carved Splendor, designed by Inspiris Living and hand crafted by our amazing team of artisans in Pedana a small town in the Southern state of Andhra Pradesh in India.

Wooden stamps have been widely used in Asia since thousands of years for fabric printing. Motifs are carefully engraved onto flat and smooth blocks of wood by skilful hands, and these blocks once ready for peinring, are dipped in colourful hues of pigments and then pressed upon cloth to create an imprint. A beautiful process all together! 

The prints are gorgeous to look at, intricate and artistic, but the blocks themselves are works of art. The cloth just carries the print, but these blocks carry the spirit of the experienced artisan carvers evoking a pleasant yearning for the mystical past.

Inspired by the simplicity and beauty of the traditional wooden blocks, I decided to launch this collection. The Carved Splendor preserves their legacy in an artistic yet functional manner, creating a fusion of sorts, making it appropriate for a contemporary context. 

Made out of Sheesham wood, these products are elegant little keepsakes that can create a sense of taking one back to the past, redolent of ancient culture. This range of products adheres to a minimalistic colour palette of brown and white, allowing the wooden block to speak for itself. The patterns embellished on these blocks are handcrafted traditional designs and they are carefully hand-painted. Small in dimensions, they can fit into any corner of the house, make amazing art on table tops, or as wall decor, and make can be great gifts  for your loved ones.
